We are a group of likeminded people based in Wales, who share a passion for the environment and who are keen to share our skills and experiences.
I am a professional forester based in South Wales. I believe in woodland creation, better connecting people with the environment and growing trees for timber. I am an elected member of council for the Institute of Chartered Foresters and Finance Officer. I have worked in the public and private forest sectors as well as travelling to understand forests in Malaysia, Australia, Tanzania and Germany.
I am a business analyst and product owner in software development projects. In addition to the environmental impact of this project, I also have a keen interest in how it can empower women and vulnerable people to make positive and lasting changes to their lives.
I am a retired engineering geology lecturer from the University of South Wales. I have been involved in engineering and environmental projects in the Mbale Region for the past 10 years. I enjoy travel, singing, reading and am blown away by having the good fortune to still be learning at my great age!
I am a scientist in the Welsh Government and specialise in spatial analysis using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing. I have worked in Asia, Oceania, and Sub-Saharan Africa which has allowed me to witness some of the most spectacular wildlife and landscapes on Earth. These experiences have developed my passion for the preservation of natural systems across the world.
I have been overseeing rural development projects including habitat creation and maintenance in Wales since 2001. I am keen to raise awareness with farmers in Wales, Uganda and everywhere else, about how individual actions taken to conserve forest and soils on their farms can contribute to the global goal of combating climate change.
